The questions buyers ask first
Do you work alongside my existing IT provider, or replace them?
Alongside, in most cases. A fractional CIO/CTO sits above your provider: sets direction, reviews their work, and holds them to it. If the provider is the problem, you will hear that plainly, but replacing them is your decision, not a condition of working with us.
How does delivery work between the US and Croatia?
You deal with Andrew in Northeast Ohio. Software is built by the Zadar team, who are direct employees of Babic Consulting d.o.o., not a subcontractor or a staffing agency. Accountability and communication stay US-led and on US hours; the overlap with Central European time is used for daily coordination.
How are scope and fees agreed?
A first conversation, then a written proposal that states scope, deliverables, and the fee. Nothing is billed before you sign it. Changes in scope are written up the same way rather than absorbed quietly.
What does the first conversation cover?
Your operation, what is slow or broken, what you have already tried, and whether the work is worth doing at all. Sometimes the honest answer is "not yet," and you will get that answer rather than a proposal.
Who owns what gets built?
You do. Code, data, documentation, and any infrastructure bought for you are yours. Systems are built so you can run them without us, and there is no platform lock-in.
What is the AI Opportunity Audit, and does my data leave my building?
A fixed-scope review of which of your workflows are worth automating, what data you already have to do it with, and what it would cost to run. Analysis happens on infrastructure you or we control, and your data is never used to train a third-party model.
